Rest In Peace

On February 22, my aunt Jenny passed away due to a struggling 3-day (yes, 3 day) battle with breast cancer. Of course she had the disease her entire life, yet she never took the time to get anything checked. Therefore she dealt with the pain and agony of the cancer slowly breaking down her body and eventually taking her life.

This blog post of course is not intended to mourn my aunt’s death, as I am not a person to mourn continuously. This blog is intended to ask you, What would you do in 3 days?

Reflect?  Pity?  Celebrate?

Would actually take the time to forgive someone? Or tell someone that you loved them? Would you do something crazy? Or do the one thing you’ve always wanted to do? Would you waste it?

We cannot waste the days we have when we are alive; when we are breathing. When we are blessed to have the air pass through our lungs allowing us to function as a human being. I ask these questions because I personally never got the chance to know my aunt on levels I know others. I went to see her this summer, but she wasn’t home. So, should I have tried harder or could she?

We say rest in peace when you are dead, yet on Earth we rest in fear when we are alive.

 AUNT JENNY. WE LOVE YOU.
